How would you transmit the file?

Well, I'm not sure exactly how SENDFILE works (i've never used it before), but you could get a DSi emulator on your computer, and then convert the text in a website into a PTC file, and send it. Of course, you would have to modify the emulator...

I think so... IDK if they would emulate stuff like wireless communication, though.

there are no dsi emulators so that idea wouldn't work

also, correct me if i'm wrong, but emulators can't interact with the actual devices (ie. you can't have a pokemon battle with someone using an emulator and a ds)

well, most emulators can't, but it is possible to create one that will send data to the device the way it expects, just very hard and not worth it, and you'd probably need some special adapter cable (for GB/C/A) or in this case, some special wifi thingy, since IDK if you can send stuff to PTC over normal wifi...

Yes, in a way, you would need a "special wifi thingy." As far as I know the DSi's wireless communications protocols haven't been reverse-engineered to the point where you could set up your router to take the messages. Then like you said you would have to know how the software (PTC) deals with the information sent with SEND/RECVFILE and you'd probably have to send a confirmation signal, etc. Once you got that, you would have to figure out how to work around the limitations of SENDFILE (triple confirmation, long send times, user control...) to make it work effectively.

(Actually, it looks like someone has gotten the DS to converse with an external unit, but with a specific series of WiFi card.)

I already told you guy's how this would work. So you have a laptop on this very page, and on the community will send qr's here( memory files of text). Then you can get on mega pc after you have finished scanning. Then after you logged in to your MEGA account, launch the browser ( MEGA browser ). Then on "go to site", Type the MEM files name and there you have it!

To do MEGA chat, you need 2 dsi's (both with MEGA pc installed) you simply type what you want to say. Then confirm wireless communications. And there you go! Phew, that was a lot to explain! I will see you guy's later!

This seems like a very ambitous project, considering PTCs limitations it looks like the offline built in apps are totally possible, not so sure about the mega net though...
